Continuing from our previous blog, DOMINION, I would turn our attention to Matthew 12:37. Jesus said,
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Since the terms “justified” and “condemned” covers the whole on one’s existence here on this earth we could easily insert anything that is part of that existence. For instance.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be healed, and by thy words thou shalt be ill.
Remember, it is Jesus who made this statement.
Paul, the apostle, wrote this:
2 Corinthians 4:13 (KJV)
13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
Paul was speaking of the resurrection in this passage but he is the one who also wrote that all the promises to you in Christ are “Yes” and “Amen” to “the glory of God the Father.”
The words you speak will tell you and everyone else what you believe. If you believe that Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth and that He lives in you (Christ in you, the hope of glory: for it is He who is in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure; Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever), then you will do exactly as He would do. You will live and do and speak what Jesus would do. Was He sick? There were many diseases that would have tried to overtake Him, but He had authority over them. He not only repelled them he healed any who would come to Him. He ruled the weather. He ruled over demons and exercised total authority over them. He was in total control in every situation, even in His death.
Jesus made a foundational statement as to how we could know He was the Son of God. John 10:37-38 (KJV)
37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
John 14:11 (KJV)
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
Jesus was stating that the works that He did were works that only God could do. Therefore confirming that He was the Son of God.
But look what He says in the same breath:
John 14:12-13 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Just as Jesus was defined by the works that He did on this earth, so are the Children of God(Christians) defined by the works that they do here on earth.
Christians are not ill, they are laying hands on the ill and healing them.
Christians are not sad and depressed, they are spreading the joy of the Lord everywhere they go.
Christians are not defeated no matter their circumstances because they are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus.
Christians are not poverty stricken because their God supplies all their needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Christians speak to the weather. It is subject to them. They are not subject to it.
Christians gladly endure suffering and ridicule because of the joy that awaits us in the glorious presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus!
There is a verse in Acts 4 that says it so well.
Acts 4:13 (KJV)
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
To more correctly state it: it was not only that they had been with Jesus, but that Jesus had come to dwell in them.
That is the true definition of a Christian. Jesus living in me by the indwelling of The Holy Spirit.
Since Jesus has purchased “all” authority by His life and death and resurrection, then if I refuse this calling I stand in opposition to the God of all creation. How could I call myself a Child of God?
The question then, is, “Are you going to continue to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, or are you going to eat of the Tree of Life which is found only in The Word of God, Jesus?
