As the nation is still reeling from the massacre at a Florida high school we are hearing very few, if any, address the heart of the issue.  There are many reasons for this, some more obvious than others.  The heart of the matter is not external, but internal.  One can change all the external features but if the inner is not addressed it will in the end mar the external.

The Bible says in Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in heavenly places.”  It is a spiritual battle that we are fighting.  In 2 Corinthians 10 it says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.”

It is time for those of us who call ourselves “Christians” to begin to function as “Christians”.  We are not the ones who are being abused and must look to the government for relief.  No!  We are the ones who are the authority.  We are the ones who have the ultimate weapon.  Our weapon transcends the natural world.  It overrules the natural world.  No weapon formed by humans can stand against it.  It is not carnal, but mighty.  What is it?  The only weapon, surely the only weapon needed, is The Word of God.  Ephesians 6 makes that plain.  It is the only offensive weapon needed to overcome anything this world could bring against us.

It seems that the enemy has infiltrated what is called “the church” to such a point that “the word of god” is just another phrase that sounds religious but has no practical application.  If one has never experienced the life changing power of the blood of Jesus Christ, one will never know the power that God has invested in His Word.  When I say “life changing”, that is what I mean.  The scripture says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation; old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new.”  Have you ever contrasted total darkness to a noonday sun?  Have you ever contrasted a dead man to a living man?  That is the difference that comes about when Jesus comes to live in you.  Jesus said, “ I only speak what I hear the Father speak.”  If “Christ in you” is your hope of glory, then He will continue to speak the words of His Father.  It is the greatest force in existence.  Nothing can stand against it.

It is time to take a stand.  You can keep using fleshly weapons or you can use the ultimate weapon and know without a doubt that you will immerge “more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus!”
