SEEN AND HEARD
SEEN AND HEARD
It was a refreshing breeze of sanity to hear two men of the political arena voice the need of returning to the Judeo-Christian roots of this country. They were not saying that all should be Christians or Jews. But they were saying that the foundations of the Jewish and Christian faith are the pillars upon which our Constitution stands. This truth is one of the things that progressives have tried, and to some degree have succeeded, to remove from the history of our nation. It does not take very much scholarship to ascertain these facts. So, it has been a concerted effort on the part of those who are against the God of the Bible, to remove any and all reference to the Creator Who endowed us with our unalienable rights. Their goal is first to do away with the Creator, then, do away with our rights. They have tried to accomplish this by hijacking the main instrument of passing on our society; the education system. Through the placement of judges and politicians they have made great strides toward that goal. Over the past century we have seen judges of all levels hand down rulings which have totally ignored or have grossly misinterpreted the Constitution. Good minded people have thought it their duty to subject themselves to those rulings. They, apparently, did not take the time to know what the Constitution said and that those misguided rulings actually contradicted the Constitution. It is truly unfortunate that politicians themselves lacked understanding and did not serve “the people” wisely.
From a Christian stand point, we are to be subject to those who are in authority. Does that mean we are to do everything they tell us even if it goes against The Word of God? Listen to Peter and John in Acts 4:19-20. “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” They did not deny the right of their rulers to punish them for going against what the rulers said, but acknowledged a higher ruler which they must obey. The question may be asked of so called Christians of today, “Have you seen and heard” the Living God of the universe or have you merely heard about that God? For those who have “seen and heard”, we cannot but speak, no matter what the consequences may be.
The time has come in this nation that those who are truly Christians must be as Joshua stated in Joshua 24:15. “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… As for me and my house we will serve The Lord.” It is time to take a stand.
May God grant you grace to stand. AMEN AND AMEN!
