A few days ago I wrote about the world view called humanism, as opposed to a Biblical world view. Yesterday we saw that worldview put into action as seventeen young people and teachers were killed. Many will proffer many reasons for this happening and how it can be stopped in the future. Let me present the reason for it and a solution to it.
In the 1960’s the United States fell for the lie of humanism when the Supreme Court ruled that God could not be associated with our public school system. This was based on the (so called) “establishment clause” which supposedly is found in the first article of the Bill of Rights.
In regards to religion this is how it reads: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof:
Somehow the Supreme Court interpreted that as saying that an individual cannot espouse a religious view in a public forum sponsored by a government entity. If one has an elementary understanding of the English language one sees clearly that that is not what it says. It says the exact opposite of what the court ruled. It actually states that the government cannot stop one from presenting his or her religious view in a public forum whether it is sponsored by a government entity or not.
Now, to be able for the government to get away with this “breaking of the law”, two things had to be established. The first was the semantics. Instead of stating the article as it was written they called it “the establishment clause”. In using a word from the “right” they lent an air of credibility. In changing the focus to “establishment” they were able to shift responsibility from government to the “establishment” of religion. In the article the emphasis is clearly on the right of the establishment to be free to express its views and the government’s lack of rights to govern the presentation of those views.
How was this brought about? Many of you have heard of the political movement known as “The Progressive”. This movement is based purely on humanistic philosophy which is based on atheism. Humanism denies the existence of a god, especially the God of The Bible. (A note: The Supreme Court has ruled that Humanism, as well as Atheism is a religion). So, how were the progressives able to pull off such a reversal of meanings of the Constitution? Look no further than the public school system. When local schools began to look to the Federal Government for their money they did not realize that they were surrendering the right to determine the direction of educational system. As the Federal Government influence in education grew it began to enforce certain doctrines. One of these doctrines was humanism. Humanism says there is no God. Humanism says that all humans are basically good. Where they get this from is not clearly stated. Most people fall for this readily because we think we are being kind by thinking the best of others. (Thinking well of others is kind, but thinking that humans are basically good is being unkind. If you believe all humans are basically good, you will never see the need of sharing the Good News of Jesus’ death and resurrection to bring salvation to all who will receive it, for “all have sinned”.)
Humanism is of its’ father, the devil. The devil wants all of God’s creation to spend eternity in hell with him. So he brings the lie of humanism.
By taking the Biblical foundation of the United States out of our public school system we have reared generations of children without the knowledge of the true foundations of our nation and have instilled in them the emptiness of the god of this world. A vacuum always attracts. The vacuum we have created in the lives of the people of our nation is being filled. There are only two choices. You can choose to receive the salvation provided by the God of all creation or you can not make a choice and continue in the emptiness and ignorance of humanism until one day you must face the final judgement.
Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” How many generations have been reared without ever beginning to gain knowledge?
Yesterday shows what happens when we do not instill the knowledge of the “fear of God” into our educational system. May God’s mercy be extended to all who have not received Him and may His grace flow more and more to those who are His.
